Update From My Foster Home

Lizzy is doing really well. It seems we may finally have her seizures under control - we've well passed the 2 week mark and almost to 3 weeks seizure free. Latest bloodwork indicated her blood levels are where they should be, and she has adjusted to the medication so the side effects are minimal or gone. She's gained about 5 lbs so is looking a lot healthier too. I ordered a clicker and am going to try and work with her with it. I think it will be better for her because it's more immediate feedback. She responds to voice, but there is a delay in comprehension, which makes training with vocal cues more challenging. She loves to play with balls and to see her playful side is such a delight. Even with her challenges and delays, she manages to have a good time. And she's still a little cuddlebug. She's a very happy girl in general. She had her first bath last weekend and she did okay - not real happy about it but she managed okay. Vet says we can think about spaying her any time now, and it's probably a good idea because the surge in estrogen during a heat cycle can wreak havoc with the medication levels and bring on seizures.
